Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
This policy explains what the Ministry of Petty Affairs ("we") collects when you use the site, why, who else handles it, and how long we keep it. We don't sell your information or show ads. Google Analytics is optional and uses cookies only after you select Accept analytics. You can reject it or change your choice using Cookie settings. We do not intentionally include names or complaint text in analytics events. Analytics page-view URLs exclude query strings and fragments; pages opened with case recovery codes do not initialize Google Analytics.
Analytics and your cookie choice
Google Analytics measures visits and page use after you accept. Google may process device, browser, network and usage information under Google's privacy policy. Advertising storage, advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in our tag configuration. Rejecting analytics leaves checkout and document features available.
Your accept or reject choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Cookie settings lets you change that choice at any time. Rejecting after acceptance disables our Google Analytics tag and removes its accessible first-party cookies from this site; it does not erase data already received by Google. If browser storage is unavailable, we ask again on the next page.
What we collect
| Information | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| What happened, in your words | When you start checkout | Held until you pay, then sent to our AI writing service to write your writ or report, and deleted once it's written |
| Your name, the other person's name, your relationship, the severity, and the case number | When you start checkout | To show them on your writ or report |
| The writ or report written for your filing | After payment | Delivered to you, and kept so your recovery link works |
| Your final-sale acknowledgment and its time | When you start checkout | To record your agreement to the Refund Policy |
| Payment status and Stripe session ID | After checkout | To confirm payment before releasing your writ or report |
A short source label, such as share | When a link includes ?src= and you start checkout | To understand which link brought you here |
| Your IP address | When you start checkout | Checked against a short-term limit to stop abuse; we don't store it with your filing |
The public sample filings run entirely in your browser. Your own filing also stays in your browser until you start checkout; then it is sent to us. It goes to our AI writing service only after you pay.
Stripe collects your email address and card details on its own checkout page. We don't receive your card number.
Who else handles it
- Stripe processes payments and sends your receipt, under Stripe's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare runs our server and stores filings and the writs and reports written for them.
- OpenAI receives your filing, including what happened, after you pay, so its AI can write your writ or report. We ask OpenAI not to store the request. OpenAI handles it under its API data policies, which may allow it to keep request data for a limited time to monitor for abuse.
- Google Fonts and cdnjs supply the site's fonts and an image-export library, so your browser contacts them and they see your IP address.
- Our website hosting provider serves the site's pages and may keep standard server logs.
How long we keep it
- What happened, in your words, is deleted as soon as your writ or report is written.
- Unpaid filings (names, relationship, severity and what happened) are deleted automatically after 2 days.
- Your edits, if you change the wording after purchase, are stored with your writ or report. We also keep the original wording so you can restore it. Both are deleted with the filing.
- Paid filings and their writs and reports are kept for 90 days, so your recovery link works, then deleted automatically.
- Payment records are kept by Stripe as required for tax and financial rules.
Your recovery link
After payment, the page address (ending in ?case= and a long code) opens your writ or report. Anyone with that link can view it, so treat it like a password.
Stored in your browser
The site remembers your sound on/off setting in local storage. It stores the office you used and a valid link-source label in session storage, which clears when you close the tab. The office stays in your browser; the source label is sent only when you start checkout.
The Score Card
The free Score Card runs in your browser. Your answers and the name you type are not sent to us. If paid case files are switched on, the paid flow will be described here before it starts.
Mailing list
The mailing-list page is a preview for now: it doesn't send or store anything. Before it does, this policy will say what it collects, which service sends the emails, and how to unsubscribe.
About the people you name
Filings often mention someone else. Please use first names or nicknames, and leave out details that could identify or hurt them. If you're named in a writ or report and want it removed, contact us with the recovery link and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to delete your filing and its writ or report early, or ask what we hold about you. Email support@ministryofpetty.com with your recovery link. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as correction or objection, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site is not for children under 13, and purchases are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We'll post any updates here and change the effective date above.
